[Qualifications] 

  • Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related. 

  • 3+ years of experience with H264, H265 (HEVC), MP4 format and HEIF formats on visual studio framework. 

  • [Job Overview]: 

  • Sony is looking for a video codec engineer who has strong media format and video codec knowledge such as MP4, HEIF, AVC and HEVC. 

  • In this role, the candidate has to analyse the requirements and implement the features in the media format verifier tools.  

  • Candidate should be able encode bitstreams for validating the supported feature 

[Primary Skills]: 

  • Good understanding of Media formats MP4, MXF and HEIF, understanding of video codecs H.264 and H.265 concepts 

  • Strong C, C++ programming skills 

  • Good logical & problem-solving abilities & communication skills 

[Good to have Skills]: 

  • Exposure to software development using GIT 

  • Knowledge & experience with the full SDLC  

  • Application development with Visual studio framework and unit testing 

  • Exposure to Linux environment is an advantage  

  • Video codec verification know-how & experience 

[Responsibilities and Duties]: 

  • Analyse customer requirements  

  • Design and Implement the feature requested by customer 

  • Verify the application in windows and linux 

  • Perform unit and Regression testing
