Roberto Peón

From 2007 until 2012 Mr. Peón was CEO for TSTT, a joint venture of Cable & Wireless PLC and the Government of Trinidad & Tobago.
During his tenure the company turned profitable. As a diversification strategy, he introduced new lines of Business such as IPTV, Security Monitoring, increasing investment in fiber optic and network modernization.
In December of 2000 Mr. Peón was named Chief Marketing Officer for BellSouth International, with responsibility for streamlining and rationalizing market operations across the operating companies, encompassing 11 million Customers. Mr. Peón retired from BellSouth in 2005 following the sale of BellSouth International to Telefonica of Spain.
Mr. Peón was President and CEO of BCP Telecomunicaçoes (BCP) since its inception, in 1997. BCP was a joint venture company formed by BellSouth and local partners to provide cellular telephone service in metropolitan Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a population of 18 million and in northeastern Brazil, with a population of 26 million. Total investment is $US4.1Billion. In this position, Mr. Peon had overall responsibility for operation.
Prior to this position, Mr. Peón was President-Latin America for BellSouth International where he was responsible for start-up operations in five countries, as well as new business development in Brazil. Previously, he served as Vice President-Business Development, where he helped design and implement BellSouthâ successful entry into Latin America markets and Israel.
Before joining BellSouth International, Peón worked for InteCom Inc., where he was responsible for product management of integrated voice/data networks, as well as international business development, with experience in the development of distribution channels in Italy, Switzerland and Canada.
Mr. Peón started his career in Telecommunications at Continental Telephone Company (CONTE:L) in Knoxville, Iowa.
