Assignment description

We are now looking for a Hardware Design Engineer for an onsite project in Sweden.

Purpose of Position:

Strengthen a medical device development project, as well as owning the electronics of a product on the market. Act as Hardware Engineer and be an integral part of a tight team responsible for the hardware and embedded system of the products.

Cooperate with other electronics engineers, system engineers, software developers and testers to ensure a stable, safe and efficient product.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own the electronic components in a new medical device development project.
  • Identify and evaluate alternative design solutions, including component selection, prototyping and testing.
  • Develop and own the technical documentation for the electronics in a medical device such as:

 Requirement specifications

- Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA)

- Component specifications

  • Plan and coordinate activities related to HW development.
  • Conduct reviews of electrical schematics and PCB designs.
  • Lead efforts for compliance testing against medical standards, EMC, ESD and Radio.
  • Develop test methods and perform analysis such as single-fault condition testing according to medical standards.
  • Specify and develop production test.
  • Own and maintain the electronic components and documentation of a medical device on the market.


 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • More than 5 years of experience in embedded systems electronics
  • Experience from medical device industry
  • Proven knowledge in IEC 60601
  • Hands on experience of technical documentation for medical electronic equipment
  • Experience from certification of medical electronic equipment
  • Proven track record of electronics design including analogue and digital circuits
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability, production test and preferably experience of working with contract manufacturing
  • Experience of battery-operated devices
  • Academic background in engineering (bachelor’s or master’s degree) preferably within the field of electronics
