Embedded SW Engineer

About the role

We need an embedded SW architect with good knowledge of communication and communication protocols.

Here is a short version of the assignment:
GCI is a proprietary interface for sensors and external modules.
GCI consists of a customized connector with a USB interface as electrical and software connection.

GCI sensors are typically measurements for oxygen, CO2, air flow etc.
I.e. relatively slow data connections that shall be transfered over the GCI interface.

The software protocol stack shall be defined.
The following prerequisites apply
• USB protocol stack for basic connectivity
• Standard protocols and solutions shall be used as far as possible
• Future proof. Prepared for future sensors
• Cybersecurity according to medical device standards (e.g. IEC 81001-5-1)
• Sensor type identification
• Device authentication 
Handshake algorithm on top of USB layer. Keys? Encryption? To ensure safe identification of only Getinge sensor
• Software upgrade of GCI dongle & upgrade of connected sensor (when applicable)
