Digital Service Manager

Job Title -  Digital Service Manager 

 
The role acts as Digital Service Manager (DSM) for IBM i & IBM z hosting platforms (formerly iSeries/AS400 and Mainframe).
The consultant will function as a “Catcher”, receiving services from the split project and assuming operational ownership within Automotive IT.
The DSM will work closely with suppliers, internal platform architects, security, service management teams (Change/Incident/Problem), and other infrastructure stakeholders.
 
The role is part of the Automotive global Infrastructure Platform Team.
 
Task:
  • Act as global Service Owner for IBM i & IBM z hosting platforms within Automotive IT.
  • Manage day‑to‑day service operations, ensuring platform availability, reliability, and security. Manage the hosting supplier (Vendor mgmt)  — including Finance, Contract fulfilment, SLA governance, RCA review, and continuous service improvement.
  • Own the platform service roadmap, ensuring alignment with business needs, IT strategy, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee and control the service budget, forecasts, and financial governance.
  • Support major incident handling and operational stability efforts.
  • Collaborate with security to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Work with architects and service management teams to ensure standards, processes, and operational excellence.
  • Cooperate closely with the Industrial Platform Service Owner for mutual backup and alignment.
 
Qualification:
  • Senior‑level experience as Hosting Service owner in a global outsourced IT environment, preferably IBM i and IBM z.
  • Strong vendor management capability (SLAs, RCA follow‑up, performance, contract adherence).
  • Proven ability to manage platform availability, reliability, performance, and security.
  • Experience developing and driving service roadmaps, continuous improvement, and cost optimization.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to translate technical topics to non‑technical audiences.
  • Selfgoing, Structured, persistent, and methodical working style.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic, cross‑functional environment.
  • Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
