Job Title - Control software engineer (embedded).
We are looking for a Control software engineer (embedded).
Role:
- Developing advanced control solutions for electrical energy systems, power converters, and industrial drives.
- In this role, you will work at the intersection of embedded software development, power engineering, power electronics and control systems.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a person with a combination of the two following expertise areas.
Knowledge / experience in both categories is mandatory, but the position is also suitable for a freshly graduated person when the background matches.
1) Knowledge of embedded software engineering
a. Must have:
- Experience in C, C++, Python
- Knowledge of Git version control
- Basic understanding of SW testing methods
b. Seen as an asset:
- Experience in unit testing, HIL testing, continuous integration
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Jenkins, static code analysis
- Embedded SW development in large organizations with multiple teams
2) Knowledge of control engineering in the context of electrical power engineering
a. Must have:
- Knowledge of some of the following application areas: Power conversion, Solar power systems, Battery energy storage systems, Wind power applications, Microgrids and smart grids
- Understanding of concepts such as inverters, rectifiers, DC/DC converters and switching power supplies
- Experience in designing control loops, stability and dynamic performance analysis, and understanding feedback and feedforward control principles
- Understanding of how power converters are controlled in practice
- Understanding of the measurements and feedback signals required for converter control
- Knowledge of typical control loops used in power electronic systems (e.g. current, voltage and power control loops)
- Ability to work at the interface of embedded software and power electronics
Important:
- The experience should be directly related to power electronics and converter control.
- General awareness of power electronics or experience developing software around power electronic devices is not sufficient on its own.
- Candidates should have hands-on understanding of converter control principles, measurements, regulation methods and control loop implementation.
b. Seen as an asset:
- Experience in developing and tuning control algorithms for power electronic converters
- Educational background in Electrical Power Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems or Control Engineering
