Job Title - Senior Embedded Linux developer

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Linux Developer for an assignment with our client. You will work on embedded Linux development, with a focus on the Linux kernel, device drivers, and hardware bring-up.

About the assignment
Working closely with the hardware and embedded teams, you will develop, configure, and troubleshoot software for custom hardware platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and adapting embedded Linux systems using the Linux kernel and Yocto.
• Setting up and configuring Board Support Packages (BSPs).
• Implementing and maintaining Linux kernel device drivers.
• Developing and configuring system tools and bootloaders.
• Bringing up prototype boards and new hardware together with the hardware and embedded teams.
• Analysing and developing software in C and C++ for multithreaded real-time systems.
• Debugging and resolving field issues.

Required experience and skills

• Solid experience developing Linux kernel device drivers or other kernel modules.
• Proficiency in C and C++ development for embedded systems.
• Experience introducing new silicon into embedded Linux environments.
• Experience working with silicon vendors to adapt reference designs and tests to custom hardware implementations.
• Familiarity with open-source community practices and collaboration, particularly within the Linux kernel and related system tool communities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable experience

• Previous experience working with Yocto.
• Contributions to the Linux kernel community. Please include references to submitted patches, where applicable.
